WABI-SABI Collection

With the WABI-SABI collection, we wanted to revolutionize the way we see paper”, says ICMA’s creative director Valentina Folli. “Starting with 100% recycled bases, we took advantage of the little imperfections resulting from the variability of the pulp and sought a new aesthetic that would place less importance on “industrial perfection” and instead focus on the responsible use of materials and resources.

By studying ICMA’s historical archives and selecting several patterns to be emboss-printed, we’ve tried to infuse the material with a unique and sober appearance, a simple, modest essence, all while keeping the environmental impact as low as possible”.

WABI-SABI use 100% recycled bases, certified with FSC® Recycled Credit, manufactured without chlorine or optical bleaching, enhanced with embossing printing, a ICMA's traditional techniques, which colors and embosses in one step.

Natural white and black in 120gsm the bases used, five embossing shown: piquet, shantung, rice, pied de poule, cotton. Blue, sky blue, rose, silver, white, beige and grey the colors chosen for a palette with low chromatic contrast, but rich in tactile details.

All the papers in the WABI-SABI collection are 100% recycled and recyclable thanks to minimal finishes, produced by a single passage through the machine, and with a limited amount of pigment.

With WABI-SABI, ICMA keeps its commitment to the environment: for every 10,000 sheets sold, a tree will be planted in its Laetitia forest (in collaboration with Treedom).
